The Lotus Method is more
than
just another workout

The Lotus Method is led by a team of pre/post
natal experts, trained to teach mothers to
care for themselves, with as much love and
intentionality as they use to care for their children.

Meet Caitlin!

Founder and Visionary Behind The
Lotus Method

The Lotus Method was started back in 2014 by founder,
Catilin Ritt. She had been working for 5 years as the Pre/
Postnatal Master Trainer at SCLA (now Equinox). After
working with hundreds of pre/postnatal clients in a one-on-
one personal training setting, she noticed the lack of
guidance and support surrounding exercise and recovery
for both her prenatal and postpartum clients were being
given and knew mothers deserved better.
It also became very clear to her that every pregnancy and
postpartum journey is unique, and what one woman
needed could be completely different from the next. So, she
set out to create a one-on-one personal training experience
exclusively for prenatal and postnatal women.

Our methodology and practices have
helped thousands of women feel safe,
strong and empowered in their bodies
as they transition into motherhood

And no… Caitlin is not yet a mother herself. The Lotus Method
was created not through her own needs, but by being
deeply in touch with those of her many clients over the
years. Ultimately, she created The Lotus Method for you.

Our Incredible Pre & Post Natal Experts

Our trainers exclusively train pre/post natal women day in and
day out. It’s all we do; we’re the very best in our field and
helping you is our true passion. We’ll be there as your guide,
every step of the way.
All of our staff go through our intensive TLM training program;
a deep dive into physiological changes, all pre/postnatal
considerations (pelvic floor, diastasis recti, incontinence, aches
and pains and more), program design, hands on training, and
how to offer impactful emotional support for the many
unexpected turns this path can take.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

I became a pre/postnatal exercise specialist because I wanted to be a part of the movement that kept mamas safe and strong throughout their motherhood journey.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

Every mama that walks through our doors is working on being the healthiest and happiest versions of themselves so that they can be just that for their babies. Our clientele inspires me to do the same for them everytime I walk into the studio.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

I wanted to become a pre/postnatal exercise specialist because I wanted to help equip Mamas all over with the education and tools they need, (but don’t often get) to become better versions of themselves inside and out.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

What inspires me most about working with our clientele of badass women is that everyday I get to work with some of the most resilient, determined, and hard working Mamas out there.  It’s no secret that motherhood requires lots of love, patience, and grace to manage life’s daily tasks. Being able to see the real, raw, and sometimes the most vulnerable versions of themselves overcome and fight to become a stronger person is what keeps me falling in love with this community.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

After working in a physical therapy clinic I very quickly became aware of how underserved the pre/
postnatal community was. Women who were trying to conceive, pregnant, and postpartum were
seeking out help and guidance in navigating their motherhood journey. The healthcare professionals
did not have the time or resources to be able to provide them the one-on-one attention they needed.
Being able to empower women and help support them through their journey is something that I could
only have dreamed of. The Lotus Method has allowed me to help women not feel alone through this
challenging time in their lives, and I love being able to continue supporting them!

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

Their priority to take care of themselves! Our clients run the world, from stay at home moms to CEO’s
these women’s schedules are packed! Yet they still prioritize taking the time to invest in themselves.
Literally running from a meeting straight into an exercise circuit is not uncommon for our mom’s. They
carve out an hour to focus on their strength, their mental health, and their happiness!

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

Ever since attending holistic nutrition school and wanting to become a mom myself, prenatal and postnatal women have been very near my heart. During these childbearing years, mothers bodies and minds need more specific attention. Whether it’s eating a whole foods diet to nourish a growing baby or getting stronger to pick up carseats and strollers, our needs change as we become moms. I count it a privilege to be able to help women on their prenatal and postpartum journeys.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

Most of these moms work full-time jobs as well as being amazing mothers, and they still priotize their health by working out with us!  As a mom and part-time worker, I often find it hard to prioritize exercising. I’m always so inspired by these badass women, and as a result, I make sure to carve time for myself to exercise!

Our clients have very diverse exercise backgrounds, fitness levels, and enthusiasm for strength training, but these women always bring it. There are lots of days where someone is having a bad day at work, feeling low energy or just generally blah. As a mom of two, I can definitely relate. But without fail our clients always end our sessions feeling better physically and emotionally and it’s amazing to be part of that. They know that they’re doing something beneficial for their mental and physical health, their pregnancy, and their baby and/or kids at home.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

After learning about The Lotus Method and what an amazing population they worked with I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It is such a pivotal time for our clients and to be able to support women through this experience felt very impactful. It’s an honor to have a role during our clients’ journeys as it’s truly a unique experience for each woman.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

Our clients have very diverse exercise backgrounds, fitness levels, and enthusiasm for strength training, but these women always bring it. There are lots of days where someone is having a bad day at work, feeling low energy or just generally blah. As a mom of two, I can definitely relate. But without fail our clients always end our sessions feeling better physically and emotionally and it’s amazing to be part of that. They know that they’re doing something beneficial for their mental and physical health, their pregnancy, and their baby and/or kids at home.

Downtown by Macklemore. I listened to it on repeat for motivation when running my last marathon.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

I became a pre/postnatal exercise specialist to help new or current moms feel fulfilled through movement. My life motto has always been “movement is medicine”, and this rings true in the pre/postnatal world. I want my clients to enjoy movement, whether we’re navigating aches or pains or reconnecting to your body after birth. Women/moms deserve to feel empowered and supported through this major life change, and I want my clients to experience nothing less than that.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

Everything! Everything from their “get it done” attitudes to carving out time for self-care to displaying their vulnerability with us to constantly appreciating our services. I have never worked for such a wonderful group of people in my training career.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

I became a pre/postnatal exercise specialist because I wanted to help support women in such a transformative time in their lives. I love being a resource for all women who are trying to conceive, pregnant, or postpartum and to help them feel comfortable moving their bodies in a safe and effective way.

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

Our women are superheros! They are so busy running their households, businesses, hobbies, and still make the time to work on themselves in the studio! Their motivation and drive to become the best, healthiest selves for not only them but also their child is so admirable.

IF YOU HAD TO LISTEN TO ONE SONG ON REPEAT FOR THE REST OF YOUR DAYS – WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I can’t pick just one song! So I’ll say any John Mayer or Kings of Leon song.

WHY DID YOU BECOME A PRE/ POSTNATAL EXERCISE SPECIALIST?

I became a pre/postnatal specialist to empower and educate women!

WHAT INSPIRES YOU THE MOST ABOUT OUR CLIENTELE OF BADASS WOMEN?

I get to support and see the mamas come to sessions with little to no sleep, 37 weeks pregnant, squeezing their workout in at 5 or 6am before a long day of work & being a parent – AND still crush the workout and their goals with a smile on their face. Their grit and determination inspire me to be a better version of myself everyday.

oof! This is so tough, good music is my thing! Hmm, I feel like you can never go wrong with “Cola”- Robin Schulz Remix by CamelPhat, Elderbook & Robin Schulz. It is a song of energy & makes you want to get up and dance no matter what!

What inspires you the most about our clientele of
      badass women?

Their priority to take care of themselves! Our clients run the world, from stay at home moms to CEO’s
these women’s schedules are packed! Yet they still prioritize taking the time to invest in themselves.
Literally running from a meeting straight into an exercise circuit is not uncommon for our mom’s. They
carve out an hour to focus on their strength, their mental health, and their happiness!
